Pulse Technologies :: Sleep may be the single most important factor
when it comes to making gains and performing at peak levels. We learned
from Dr.
Rosekind that sleep deprived athletes have a reduced response time of up
to 75% amongst other impairments that can make the difference between a
medal and a loss. Dr. Rosekind, who was consulted by the Hilton
corporation during the 2005 Olympic Games to design the perfect sleep
environment in the 160 resident athlete dorms at the US Olympic Training
Center in Colorado Springs, also details steps to understanding just how
much sleep you need and how to get the most recuperative sleep. - On the
second half of the
show Paul Becker explains how pulsed electromagnetic fields can actually
induce a deep level of sleep that can aid in recovery. The Central Nervous
System seems to responds to electromagnetic fields and rhythmic pulses of
between 10Hz and 0.5Hz appear to act like a metronome causing the brain to
synchronize and relax. There is also evidence provided from a watershed
study performed by NASA that pulsed electromagnetic fields can reverse muscle
wasting and increase bone mineral uptake. Becker also discusses some
athletes who are using this technology to help aid in their training and
recovery and claims that pulsed electromagnetic wave technology is the
future in ergogenic aids. .
