Gas Prices.... Bringing Us Closer Together

I've been walking more lately. I live in an area that provides a variety of shops and stores in walking distance. Funny thing, they weren't in walking distance before. I always jumped in the car to run to the grocery, coffee shop, etc. Now I walk.

Its funny how gas prices have extended what I now think is "close".

I'm not complaining. I like to walk. It was just more feasible to drive before. The commodity of time was greater in value than the cost of the drive. Now that's reversed.

I'm glad more people are walking. I see my neighbors coming from the shopping center across the avenue on foot more often. It gives people a chance to chat and say hello. Something we may have wanted to do before but was hard from inside the cockpit of our moving vehicle. It feels a little more like Mayberry now.

Tell Andy Goober said hey!
